We roast our own coffee
That's for a couple reasons. For one, we're complete nerds, and we just love the process. We also get more control over the product.
Most important, freshness is the biggest factor in taste. Regardless of how high the quality of the beans, 10-14 days after roasting they have a sharp dropoff.
We Roast so it’s Fresh
Whenever you have our coffee, it's been roasted within the past few days, so it's at the peak of freshness. That's the difference you can taste with every cup.
We source our green beans through Genuine Origin, which has the "Volcafe Way". Instead of a fair trade certification, it's an initiative to support sustainable, high-quality coffee through providing the farmers direct technical support.
